FUTURE-RADAR workshop: European Innovation funding for Road Transport Electrification – Achievements, Impacts and Identification of White Spots in R&D

For more than a decade, the European Commission has funded research projects on road transport electrification in the context of the European Green Cars/Vehicles Initiative EGVI cPPP. In more than 140 different projects, large progress has been achieved regarding technological development and implementation as well as network building among the stakeholders.
Though, there are still topics, for which further research and innovation is needed in order to tackle existing challenges towards the implementation of a sustainable and competitive transport system in Europe and to achieve the European climate targets.
In order to best promote research and development on these topics, funding policies must be adapted accordingly and the new topics have to be anchored in future work programs and research agendas. For this, the sound identification and specification of research topics and priorities is essential.

In this context, the FUTURE-RADAR project is organising an Expert Workshop on 22 May 2019.  At the workshop, experts from research and industry will jointly define the current state of research and development in the field of electrification of road transport.
A useful starting point for this will be the European Roadmap Electrification of Road Transport edited by the European Technology Platforms ERTRAC, EPoSS and ETIP-SNET in 2017.
Given the actual state, white spots and new topics revealing existing research needs are expected to be identified in interactive group works and discussions, generating potential input for future work programs in the new EU framework for research and innovation.

The workshop is organized by the EU funded project FUTURE-RADAR, support action for the European Green Vehicles Initiative cPPP and the European Road Transport Research Advisory Council.
Please note that the workshop will be embedded as a side event in the Electric Vehicle Symposium (EVS-32), the largest international conference on sustainable mobility and road transport electrification. Participation is free of charge but requires a 1 day AEC2019 or full access conference pass for the EVS-32.
Please register to the workshop before by sending a short confirmation email to davina.wenninger@vdivde-it.de.
