Exciting new space dedicated to the future of mobility: OSTRA Labor
On August 31, 2024, the newly revamped Heinz-Steyer-Stadion celebrated its grand opening, where OSTRA Labor officially welcomed the citizens of Dresden. This exciting new space is dedicated to the future of mobility.
As part of the MOBILITIES FOR EU project, OSTRA Labor will function as a public-facing showcase and interactive hub, allowing citizens to engage directly with cutting-edge mobility solutions. The laboratory is set to become a vital area for exchange, learning, and co-creation, enabling the public to actively participate in shaping Dresden’s mobility landscape.
Located in the Ostragehege district, the lab will soon host a variety of innovative mobility initiatives, including autonomous loading and transport robots and bidirectional charging technologies. The opening day featured a diverse range of activities, such as information booths, an interactive electric vehicle simulation developed by Technische Universität Dresden, and a mobility behaviour survey to gather feedback from residents. With a special play area for children and numerous opportunities for citizens to engage with experts, the event fostered a vibrant atmosphere of curiosity and collaboration.
OSTRA Labor is poised to be a cornerstone of the city’s innovative efforts, bringing cutting-edge solutions to life in the heart of Dresden.
